Football Game Reminder:
We love to see so many of our elementary students supporting the Toreadors at Friday night football games! As a reminder, elementary students should be sitting with their families or supervised by an adult at the games. Supervision is not provided by BCSD staff so students should not be dropped off and left unsupervised. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe, orderly environment so everyone is able to enjoy the games! Go Toreadors!

Franklin Families:
A friendly reminder that the breakfast doors open at 7:40 at Franklin. Students should not be arriving at school before that time for breakfast and there is no supervision provided. Doors open at 7:45 for students who do not eat breakfast at school and those students should not be arriving before that time. Students who do not eat breakfast will be asked to wait outside until 7:45 when the doors open. Thank you for your support with this.

Congratulations to our students who earned Kid of Character certificates this week!

We had a great turnout for our back to school conferences this year! We were able to meet with 94% of our families so we’re close to our goal of 100%. Thanks to everyone who was able to take the time to meet with our teachers. We’ll continue to shoot for our goal of 100% at fall conferences.

Congratulations to our first group of students to earn Kid of Character certificates this year! Certificates are earned by students for demonstrating the following character traits:
Trustworthy
Respectful
Responsible
Fair
Caring
Citizenship

Lots of predictions and graphing activities about the Cy-Hawk game today! ❤️💛🖤

Here are the breakfast and lunch menus for September!

Please consider attending the Mount Olive Lodge spaghetti feed! Mt. Olive sponsors our Books for Bikes program each year which has been a great program to get our students to read more. See the attached flyer for more information!

Also, if your kiddos were extra tired, hungry and possibly crabby this week, that’s normal. It doesn’t mean they don’t like school. It takes them some time to get back into the routine and they go hard all day. Combined that with the heat we’ve had and it was a tiring week! Even our staff were exhausted by Friday. 😂😂

We had a great first week of school! It was so much fun seeing all of our students back and ready to learn! Remember that Wednesday is our first early release day of the year. Students will be dismissed at 1:25. We only have 1 early release for teacher professional development each month this year and they’re on the first Wednesday. Have a great weekend!

We had a great first day at Franklin yesterday! Thanks to all of our families for being patient with morning drop off, bussing and afternoon pick up. Things take a little longer as we get the routine down on the first few days and things will get faster as our students learn those routines. We really appreciate all of our families working with us to ensure the safety of our kids.
Quick reminder for 3rd & 4th grade families who pick students up. You can also meet students at the northeast corner of the building near Crawford and 20th Street, next to our playground. Just be aware of our buses coming down Crawford at that time. All of our 2nd grade students being picked up come to the lunchroom and are picked up in the loop but 3rd & 4th are able to do either.
We're looking forward to another great day today!

It’s a great day to be a Toreador!
