At our monthly character assemblies, we always include a fun game and our students who were recognized for demonstrating the character trait of the month are invited to play. This month, we played human Hungry, Hungry Hippos. We're so lucky to work with students who like to have fun and staff members who like to have fun with them. Just look at those smiles! It was a great way to end the week!

Our 3rd & 4th graders worked really hard on their ISASP reading test yesterday! Today, they'll be doing the language usage test! We know they'll be great!

Math & science night is TONIGHT at Franklin and Ledges! 4:30 - 6:30. We'll be serving pizza in the lunchroom. Hope to see lots of our families there!

DATE CHANGE! Due to a conflict with the library carnival, the PTO elementary block party has been rescheduled for Thursday, May 29 from 4:30 - 6:30 at Ledges. We'll send out reminders as the date gets closer. It looks like there will be several fun activities to celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer!

3rd & 4th Grade Families: Just a reminder that our 3rd & 4th grade students will be taking the Iowa state assessment (ISASP) on April 22 - 25. A letter with more information and a testing schedule is attached. Please make sure to let us know of any planned absences on the testing dates so we can get all of our students tested. A small number of our students will be starting ISASP testing next week and teachers should have already reached out to those families. Big thanks to the Iowa Ag Literacy Foundation, Farm Bureau and Nutrene for bringing the Seed Survivors program to Franklin last week! Our 3rd & 4th graders had a great time learning about agriculture and land in our state! Also, big thanks to Mrs. Byriel for coordinating their visit!
2nd & 3rd Grade Families:
Next Monday is our iSmile dental screening day at school. As a reminder, we need active permission from families who would like their student to be screened. A permission slip was sent home in Thursday folders but please contact the office if you need another one. We'll need permission slips returned by Monday morning and we are not able to accept verbal permission.
