HAPPENING TOMORROW: Join us for the 35th annual Beverlin Memorial Track Meet! 🏃♂️ This incredible event pays tribute to two remarkable individuals who made significant contributions to the Boone Community School District.
In 1989, Stan Brandmeyer, a dedicated teacher and coach in Boone, established this track meet in memory of Ken Beverlin, the former Boone Athletic Director. Tragically, Mr. Beverlin lost his life in a car accident that same year, and Mr. Brandmeyer organized the inaugural meet that spring. The primary goal of this event was to introduce 5th and 6th grade students to the exciting world of track and field while honoring Mr. Beverlin's legacy.
The schedule for the event is as follows (start and end times are approximate):
⏰ Morning Session (6th Grade): 10am-12pm
⏰ Afternoon Session (5th Grade): 12:30-2:30pm
Parents and families are invited to cheer on our students as they compete in the event. Admission is FREE!

The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Midwest Region has named Boone High School Senior Clara Carpenter as its 2023 Emerging Professional Student of the Year.
Carpenter’s passion for the construction industry was showcased during her job shadowing experience at the Ledges Elementary jobsite, where she worked alongside Melinda Packebush, Midwest Region Emerging Professionals Chair. Carpenter's enthusiasm and her articulation of her future plans and goals left a lasting impression on the professionals with whom she interacted.
This summer, Carpenter will begin an electrical apprenticeship with a local company, working towards becoming a leader in the trades. With an ambitious spirit and dedication, she aims to inspire other young women to pursue careers in construction.
“We are incredibly proud of Clara's accomplishments and the recognition she has received from the NAWIC Midwest Region,” said Julie Trepa, Superintendent of Boone CSD. “Her passion for the construction field and her determination to make a difference in the trades are truly commendable. Clara has left a lasting impact on Boone High School, and we have no doubt that she will continue to achieve great things in her future career.”
The NAWIC was established in 1953 as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas, by a group of 16 women working in the construction industry. Today, the organization features over 115 chapters across the United States, offering its members numerous opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, and public service.
