We're thrilled to announce that two of Boone’s young musicians have earned coveted spots in the prestigious South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (SCIBA) 8th Grade Honor Band’s top tier: Caiden Hurley, trombone, and Lynneah Pickering, flute! 🎶
Lynneah Pickering represents Sacred Heart School in Boone, while Caiden Hurley is a student at Boone Middle School. Both students study under the guidance of Rose Kundel, Boone Middle School Band Director.
Chosen from a pool of exceptional musicians across Central Iowa, these talented students will represent Boone at the SCIBA Honor Band Festival on November 7 at Ankeny Centennial HS. The day will include rehearsals and culminate in an evening concert showcasing the remarkable talents of selected musicians. 👏
Please join us in congratulating Caiden and Lynneah! 🎉

Every day of school counts. Missing just two days a month adds up to 10% of the entire school year!
We all play a part in ensuring our students are in school each day. Parents and caregivers, please make sure that if your student is healthy, they’re in school—on time and ready to learn.
A little encouragement goes a long way! 🚌🎒

We’re pleased to recognize Red Ribbon Week! Let's stand strong against substance abuse by following these helpful tips:

➡️Be aware of the risks of substance use
➡️Support friends in making smart choices

A student’s potential is limitless without drugs and alcohol!

The Boone Middle School Teen Outreach Program is hosting a drive for the Boone Area Humane Society through October 31! 📅
The Humane Society does incredible work in our community, and they are in need of some essential items to continue their mission. 🏠❤️ Please consider helping by donating items such as trash bags, Clorox wipes, leashes, collars, blankets, and wet & dry food for both cats and dogs.
📌 Drop off your donations at the middle school’s front office or Ms. Christa’s room (143). Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity! 🙌🐶🐱

Consistent attendance at school truly matters! The more often a student is absent, the more likely they are to fall behind their peers and miss out on critical learning experiences.
Join us in making attendance a top priority this school year! 💯

⏰REMINDER: Today, all Boone CSD schools will have a 2-hour early dismissal.

Today, we encourage our school community to wear ORANGE for Unity Day (also known as Stop Bullying Day). Let’s continue to treat one another with the kindness and respect we all need and deserve! 🧡

It’s Careers in Construction Month! 👷 By 2031, the construction industry in the U.S. is expected to add more than 250,000 new jobs.
We’re proud to offer students opportunities to prepare for these critical roles in our economy. For example, our pre-apprenticeship program enables students to learn skills through online modules and gain years of experience with a quality apprentice partner through on-the-job labs!
Our students in trades courses also have fantastic opportunities to grow their construction skills. Check out the photos of these students building a mini framed wall for their Intro to Trades course!

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month. We’re pleased to celebrate with our families and community! 💙💛

💡 Did you know? Approximately 7 million students miss at least 15 days of school. That’s 16 percent of the U.S. student population!
Ending chronic absenteeism starts with you. Parents, please do your part to ensure that if your children are healthy, they’re in school. Attendance matters!

During Bullying Prevention Awareness Month, we are emphasizing the importance of maintaining a safe, positive, and welcoming learning environment in our schools.
We encourage all students to choose kindness and be mindful of how they treat others.
