Boone CSD is offering a variety of surplus school items for FREE on a first-come, first-serve basis on Thursday, August 29, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Items include desks, chairs, tables, shelves, filing cabinets, and more.

On Women’s Equality Day, we reflect on an important milestone in our nation’s history—the certification of the 19th Amendment. This amendment ensured that women across the United States gained the right to vote.
Please note—Students in grades 5-12 will be released two hours early today (August 26). ⏰

Angela Crouthamel graduated from the BHS Class of 1993 and is currently a Kindergarten Associate at Boone CSD!
From attending Boone Schools as a preschooler to now shaping young minds today, Angela's journey has come full circle. She started her kindergarten journey at Page School in 1980, and 32 years later, she returned to work at the very same school until it closed. Her dedication to our community and its youngest learners is truly inspiring!

Our next Homegrown Hero is Carrie Runestad, our 5th/6th Grade Math Teacher! She is a proud BHS graduate from the Class of 1995.
Carrie’s commitment to her students and passion for teaching are evident in everything she does. Her journey from a Boone High graduate to a valued educator in our district exemplifies the spirit of giving back to the community.

Students can audition on August 26 and 27 from 6:30 to 8:30pm in the Boone High School Auditorium. Call-backs are on August 28 from 3:45 to 5:00pm.

Meet Samantha Gifford, a proud graduate of the Class of 2001 who is now a dedicated custodian at Boone CSD! She helps keep our schools clean, safe, and welcoming for all. Her hard work and commitment to our community make her an essential part of our Boone family!

✨ We are thrilled to celebrate Sherrie Derry as our next Homegrown Hero! She is a Boone High School alumna from the Class of 1974 who has been making a difference at Boone CSD for over 27 years!
Sherrie's journey started in December 1997, when she was hired to supervise the lunchroom. From there, her role grew to include preparing and serving breakfast, supervising study hall, managing ISS and morning detention, and eventually becoming a one-on-one special education associate. Sherrie has dedicated herself to helping students with various needs, including those with Angelman syndrome, autism, and Down syndrome.
"The students at BHS teach me something new quite often," shared Sherrie. "They have been awesome at helping me learn how to do more things on computers."
Sherrie’s compassion, commitment, and love for the students shine through in everything she does. We are so grateful to have Sherrie as part of our Boone CSD family! 🙌

Scott is a proud Boone alumnus from the Class of 1990 who serves as our Middle School Principal! Scott’s dedication to education and our community runs deep, making him a true Homegrown Hero.

The 5th and 6th Grade Open House will take place on Wednesday, August 21, from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Boone Middle School. The 5th grade parent meeting is scheduled for 5:30pm.
The 7th and 8th Grade Open House will happen on the following day (Thursday, August 22) from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Boone Middle School.

Today, the spotlight shines on our Homegrown Hero, Jed Hammen! 🌟
Jed is a Boone CSD alumnus from the Class of 1998 who's one of our 3rd grade teachers! He also serves as the Head Boys Tennis Coach, Head Freshman Boys Basketball Coach, and Drama Director.
"I’m proud to be back coaching and teaching in my hometown," said Jed. "Boone is an amazing place that means a lot to me!"
His passion for our community and dedication to our students make him a true Homegrown Hero. Thank you, Jed! 🙌
Meet Lauralee Baker, one of our instructional coaches! She is a graduate of the BHS Class of 1994! 🙌
"I actually went to Page and Bryant as an elementary student. Then, I was lucky enough to teach kindergarten at Page and 2nd grade at Bryant," said Lauralee. "I even taught with some of my former teachers!"
