Rotary District 6000 has honored Boone Community School District Board of Education Member Matt Elthon with the Paul E. Hellwege Guardian of Integrity Award.

The award, named after the late District Governor Paul Hellwege, recognizes Rotarians who demonstrate a profound commitment to ethics and integrity in both their professional and personal lives. Elthon received the award at a celebration event on April 20.

“Matt’s steadfast commitment to integrity and ethical leadership not only uplifts the Board of Education’s work, but also sets a powerful example for our community,” said Julie Trepa, BCSD Superintendent. “His recognition with this prestigious award reflects the high standards and values we strive to embody every day in our schools and community.”

Since its inception in 2010-11, the Guardian of Integrity Award has been presented annually to select Rotarians who have been members for at least three years and who embody Hellwege's passion for ethics. Elthon’s dedication to upholding these principles in his roles within the realms of business, education, and community service led to his nomination and subsequent recognition.

The District 6000 Vocational Service Team oversees the nominations and selection process for the accolade. The award highlights the efforts of individuals who, through their actions, writings, policies, and public statements, have significantly contributed to the development of integrity and ethical practices across various fields.
